Catholic Charities is a resource for support, guidance, and information on a variety of issues faced by our pastors in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The Parish Support Line is a service to the parishes that gives pastors an additional resource to help the individuals and families that turn to them in desperation.

Because parishes and pastors oftentimes a play a significant role on a person’s or family’s support system, pastors become aware of the extenuating circumstances and unforeseen hardships encountered by their parishioners.

How It Works
Pastors or their designees can call the support line to speak to the Parish Support Line coordinator to find out what resources are available through Catholic Charities. Most often, pastors seek out the help of Catholic Charities when a parishioner finds himself or herself in one of the following situations:

  • Family loses their home and belongings to a fire
  • Household breadwinner loses a job
  • An individual becomes severely ill or injured and can no longer provide for the family
  • Someone becomes a victim of a crime

The Parish Support Line coordinator will put the pastor / designee in direct contact with the appropriate person at Catholic Charities to assist in the situation at hand.
